Ivan Reitman on Plans for the My Super Ex-Girlfriend DVD: “There are some scenes that didn’t finally fit into the movie that will be good. Like the big closet scene for example, that I want to add back in. We’ve been actually working at it right from the beginning. I think there are some nice additions. There’s a whole sort of sequence that sort of illustrates the evolution of that shark sequence, which was a slightly more complicated scene originally. Then the more I sort of edited and screened it, I sort of simplified it a bit because it went on too long. We’ll show the whole scene in the DVD.”
Not everything we’ll see on the DVD will have finished effects. “They’re at various stages so you’ll see some very cartoon like stuff and some shots that are virtually finished that we pulled out at the last second.”
The Status of Old School 2: “[Todd Philips] and Scot Armstrong are working on the screenplay to Old School 2 now.” Reitman wouldn’t disclose any secrets about the Old School sequel but did say the new adventures of the frat boys will “be good.”
Reitman also said he believes Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, and Vince Vaughn are interested in getting back together for the sequel. “It’ll certainly be more expensive. I think they all want to do it. The issue is whether DreamWorks can afford it. I think they all want to do it so I’m sure we’ll be able to find some formula to make it work.”
