Mike White's Year of the Dog Movie Cast is Filling Out

Molly Shannon is set to star in writer/producer/director Mike White (School of Rock) comedy movie, Year of the Dog, and may be joined by Peter Sarsgaard, Laura Dern, John C Reilly, and Regina King.

Shannon has already committed to star as a woman whose life undergoes a dramatic transformation after her beloved dog passes away.

According to The Hollywood Reporter filming is expected to begin in June 2006.

After a busy 2005, Sarsgaard had been taking a little time off preparing to be a father with actress/fiancee Maggie Gyllenhaal. John C Reilly will next be seen with Will Ferrell in the comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Regina King is currently at work on the animated film The Ant Bully. Laura Dern recently completed filming Lonely Hearts with John Travolta and Inland Empire which reunited her with David Lynch.
