"War of the Worlds" Attracts Tim Robbins and Miranda Otto

By , About.com Guide

Shooting is expected to begin in November 2004 on "War of the Worlds," the Tom Cruise/Steven Spielberg movie based on the H.G. Wells novel. Adapted for the screen by David Koepp and Kathleen Kennedy, this will be a contemporized version of 1898 "War of the Worlds" story.

With Tom Cruise set to star and Dakota Fanning signed on to play his daughter, Tim Robbins and Miranda Otto are now in negotiations to join the film. Robbins was most recently seen starring in "Code 46" while Otto has the Dennis Quaid action-drama "Flight of the Phoenix" up next.
