Feb 4, 2008 - With production gearing up and filming expected to begin in the next month, Mark Romanek has opted out of directing the Universal Pictures monster movie The Wolfman. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, Romanek's departure will not stop the project from moving forward.
Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro (Traffic) has long been attached to star in the horror film, and the hunt is on for a new director to helm the movie. The Wolfman is now scheduled to begin shooting in March.
Del Toro was last seen in Things We Lost in the Fire opposite Halle Berry and recently wrapped work on Steven Soderbergh's The Argentine and Guerilla. Del Toro stars as Ernesto 'Che' Guevara de la Serna in the two biopics.
