Peter Berg is Attached to Direct "Tonight, He Comes"

The Superhero Film is Edging Closer to Production

By , About.com Guide

Oct 16, 2006 - Jonathan Mostow was attached to direct Tonight, He Comes (renamed Hancock) but dropped out of the picture (however he's remaining on as a producer). Mostow was followed by Gabriele Muccino, the director of the Will Smith drama, The Pursuit of Happyness. Now comes word that Muccino is out and Peter Berg is in. All this begs the question: Will Tonight, He Comes ever actually start filming?

Columbia Pictures' Hancock follows a superhero who is going through a mid-life crisis. Smith will play the disenchanted superhero as well as produce the film with Michael Mann, James Lassiter, and Akiva Goldsman. According to Variety Tonight, He Comes is scheduled to begin shooting in May with Columbia eyeing a 2008 release.

Berg recently completed filming The Kingdom starring Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner.
