After taking years off of directing feature films ("Titanic" was his last commercial movie), Jim Cameron is now gearing up to work on all sorts of projects. Cameron's currently at work on the top-secret "Project 880" (is it really "Avatar?") and he's preparing to take on the long-awaited "Battle Angel" movie. Now word comes he's hired writer Laeta Kalogridis to start working on "The Dive.""The Dive" tells the story of freedivers Francisco Ferraras and his wife Audrey Mestre who set records diving into the ocean's depths without the aid of breathing apparatus.
Cameron is drawn to underwater projects and this particular story caught his attention after it was featured in Sports Illustrated. He met with Ferraras and even filmed him matching the dive which killed his wife.
