Beware "The Blob"

Oct. 29, 2004 - Shortly after the announcement of "The Fog" remake comes the news another classic horror flick is getting dusted off and contemporized. "The Blob" - the horror movie which starred Steve McQueen and was made for around $250,000 back in 1958 - will be attacking again thanks to Paramount Pictures and Scott Rudin.

The original "The Blob" draws more laughs than screams and is affectionately referred to as a camp classic. The premise was very simple, a jello-like substance crashes to Earth and eats everything in its way.

"The Blob" remake hasn't landed a writer yet but according to Variety, the original film will be modernized.
