Sep 21, 2004 - "Scary Movie 3" guys David Zucker, Craig Mazin and Robert Weiss will take on the superhero movie subgenre with the same wicked sense of humor they used to skewer scary movies.
"Superhero!" will be directed by Zucker, with Mazin writing the script and Weiss producing. Superhero movies from "Batman Begins" to "Spider-Man" will be the fodder of jokes in "Superhero!"
Zucker, Mazin and Weiss are currently at work on "Scary Movie 4," after taking over the "Scary Movie" franchise when Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans left to work on other projects. According to Variety, the three came up with the "Superhero!" idea while working on "Scary Movie 4."
David Zucker told Variety, "When you write these films, you have to watch every movie that came out, and we realized the superhero genre was really ripe."
Production is expected to begin in Spring 2005.
