Variety is now reporting that casting is underway. Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, and Michelle Yeoh are in negotiations to take lead roles in Boyle's "Sunshine." "Sunshine" is best described as a sci-fi film about a group of astronauts assigned the task of finding a space crew who have disappeared.
If the deal goes through, "Sunshine" would reunite Boyle with his "28 Days Later" star Cillian Murphy. "Sunshine" also reunites Boyle with screenwriter Alex Garland who wrote the scripts for "The Beach" and "28 Days Later."
Murphy has "Red Eye" for director Wes Craven up next, following a supporting role as Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow in "Batman Begins." Yeoh will next be seen in "Memoirs of a Geisha" co-starring Ken Watanabe. Chris Evans has "Fantastic Four," "Fierce People," and "London" due out this year.
