By , About.com Guide

Jan 21, 2005 - Hot off the critically acclaimed drama, "Finding Neverland," director Marc Forster has opted for lighter fare with "Stranger Than Fiction," a comedy starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Will Ferrell and written by Zach Helm.

According to Variety, "Stranger Than Fiction" follows an IRS auditor (Ferrell) who hears narration in his head. Naturally, this causes him to have problems at work and with his personal life.

Mandate Pictures will distribute "Stranger Than Fiction" with Lindsay Doran producing. Filming is expected to begin in April 2005.

Will Ferrell will next be seen in the Woody Allen movie "Melinda and Melinda" and opposite Nicole Kidman in "Bewitched." Maggie Gyllenhaal is currently working on "Happy Endings" and "Trust the Man."
