Six More Join the Cast of The Spiderwick Chronicles

Oct 4, 2006 - The cast of The Spiderwick Chronicles is growing by leaps and bounds. Those recently saying yes to joining Freddie Highmore and Sarah Bolger for the film are Andrew McCarthy, Izabella Miko, Nick Nolte, Mary-Louise Parker, Joan Plowright, and Martin Short.

Adapted by David Berenbaum, The Spiderwick Chronicles follows the adventures of twin brothers Jared and Simon (Highmore) and their sister Mallory (Bolger) who discover a mysterious world filled with fairies and other strange creatures.

Mark Waters is directing the film which is currently in production in Montreal. Mark Canton, Albie Hecht, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Kathleen Kennedy are producing The Spiderwick Chronicles.

The Spiderwick Chronicles is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in February 2008.
