Thomas Haden Church Lands a Role in "Spider-Man 3"

Haden Church to Play Spider-Man's Newest Nemesis

March 22, 2005 - "Spider-Man 3" director Sam Raimi and producers Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad confirmed "Sideways" star Thomas Haden Church has been cast as Spider-Man's archenemy in the third "Spider-Man" movie.

Production on "Spider-Man 3" is scheduled to begin in early 2006 with a projected release date of May 4, 2007. The primary cast and crew behind the first two films will be reuniting for the third "Spider-Man" movie, including actors Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Kirsten Dunst as MJ.

In a statement issued by Columbia Pictures director Raimi said, "In addition to the on-going relationship between Peter Parker and MJ, these films are driven by the great actors who have brought our villains to life. Thomas Haden Church will be a fantastic and challenging new nemesis and we all look forward to working with him."

Exactly who Haden Church will be playing is being kept a closely guarded secret.
