Feb 14, 2007 - Andy and Larry Wachowski have decided their Speed Racer movie will be shot at Studio Babelsberg in Germany. The Wachowski brothers used the studio for V for Vendetta, which they wrote and produced.
Every single time Speed Racer is mentioned I hum, "Go Speed Racer, Go." That's about all I remember about the Japanese anime series. According to IMDB, the series featured a young race car driver named Speed who, like Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights, lived to go fast.
The feature film version of Speed Racer has been waiting at the starting gate for years, with production finally gearing up in late 2006.
The Wachowski brothers other credits include writing, producing and directing The Matrix series as well as the screenplay for Assassins starring Sylvester Stallone.
