Producer Christopher Eberts told Variety, "We've been a fan of Paul's films, and Josh is hard to get. We are taking them back to Montreal, and they will be working with much of the same crew as they did on 'Wicker Park.'"
Filming is scheduled to begin in November on screenwriter Jason Smilovic's noir gangster story, which finds Jewish gangsters battling with African-American gangsters.
Hartnett recently wrapped up his role in "Sin City," the Robert Rodriguez/Frank Miller pic loaded with star power, and "Mozart and the Whale" for director Peter Naess.
