Segal will direct and produce the film. There's no word yet on who will star in the lead role of Billy Batson, the young man who becomes Captain Marvel whenever he says Shazam!
Segal, a frequent collaborator of Adam Sandler's, has the big screen adaptation of Get Smart (set to star Steve Carell) in the works.
