Robert Downey Jr Joins Tim Allen for "The Shaggy Dog"

Nov 11, 2004 - With Tim Allen in place to star, Walt Disney Pictures and director Brian Robbins have signed Robert Downey Jr., Danny Glover, and "Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis to the cast of "The Shaggy Dog" remake.

The original 1959 "Shaggy Dog" featured a teenager (played by Tommy Kirk) who turns into a sheepdog every now and then. Disney vets Fred MacMurray and Annette Funicello co-starred in the campy comedy.

Filming on the new "The Shaggy Dog" began in November 2004 in and around Los Angeles. Disney hasn't yet announced its anticipated release date.
