"The Sentinel" is based on Gerard Petievich's novel of the same name. Petievich ("To Live and Die in LA") is a former Secret Service agent turned best-selling author. "The Sentinel" follows a Secret Service agent (Michael Douglas) whose affair with the First Lady (Kim Basinger) makes him the primary suspect in a fellow agent's murder. In order to clear himself, he has to infiltrate the President's powerful circle and outguess a killer.
Filming is expected to begin in May 2005 in Toronto.
