Feb 2, 2007 - Rob Corddry (Blades of Glory, The Daily Show) has signed on to play Woody Harrelson's nemesis in the comedy movie Semi Pro, directed by Kent Alterman.
Semi Pro is the story of a former benchwarmer from the NBA who tries to lead his American Basketball Association team to the big leagues. Will Ferrell stars as the team's owner, coach and player.
Others involved in the film include Andre Benjamin, DeRay Davis and Will Arnett. Alterman's transitioning from his normal role as executive producer to feature film director with Semi Pro. Scot Armstrong (School for Scoundrels, Old School) wrote the screenplay with Jimmy Miller producing and Lauren Shuler Donner and David Householter executive producing.
Filming is expected to begin later this month and wrap up in May. New Line Cinema is aiming for a 2008 release.
