Twisted Pictures’ Gregg Hoffman, Oren Koules and Mark Burg are producing, as they did on the original. James Wan and Leigh Whannel, the director and writer/co-star of the original SAW are executive producers of the sequel, along with Stacey Testro, Peter Block, Lions Gate President of Acquisitions, TV, and Co-Productions and Jason Constantine, Lions Gate Senior Vice President of Acquisitions.
Bousman wrote the original screenplay for SAW 2 which has been developed in conjunction with Leigh Whannel, the writer/co-star of the original SAW and James Wan, the director of SAW, with specific story details being kept closely under wraps. Previously, Bousman has directed music videos for such artists as Static-X, Velma Fix and Tamela. He has also lensed several commercial campaigns as well as the award-winning short, ZOMBIE. Bousman is represented by Tanya Mallean of Skrzyniarz and Mallean and Craig Wyckoff of Epstein, Wyckoff, Corsa and Ross.

Darren’s passion and incredible work on the SAW 2 script, as well as his strong work in the short film format convinced us that he was the right person to entrust with our franchise,” said Twisted’s Hoffman, Koules and Burg. “His vision for the sequel pays tribute to James Wan’s startling imagery from the original SAW, but is thoroughly unique and his own.”

Twisted Pictures is helmed by Mark Burg, Oren Koules and Gregg Hoffman. SAW, one of the most profitable films of 2004, was their first picture under the new label and was also distributed by Lions Gate Films. Twisted Pictures is currently in production on CATACOMBS, starring Shannyn Sossamon and Alecia Moore aka Pink, co-written and co-directed by David Elliot and Tomm Coker, under their nine-picture distribution and financing deal with Lions Gate.
