By , About.com Guide

Nov 21, 2005 - Filming is expected to begin next summer on "Rush Hour 3" with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker both returning to the third film of the franchise. Brett Ratner is expected to direct the pic from a script by Jeff Nathanson.

Ratner directed the first two "Rush Hour" movies and had been set to direct the "Rush Hour 3" in 2005. However talks with Chris Tucker broke down and Ratner took the job directing "X-Men 3." Now that Tucker's onboard, New Line is planning on "Rush Hour 3" being their big summer movie of 2007.

According to Variety, Tucker agreed to $20 million against 20% of the gross. Chan's earning slightly less upfront but will own the distribution rights in Hong Kong and China.

Tucker's last film role was in "Rush Hour 2." Jackie Chan recently completed work on "The Myth" for writer/director Stanley Tong.
