The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Harlin will step behind the camera for the action-oriented film, which Arclight manager director Gary Hamilton claims will have lots of harrowing car chase scenes. Hamilton recently told The Hollywood Reporter, "'Run' will feature some of the most complex car-chase scenes to hit the cinema in years, and no one understands action better than Renny."
"Run" centers around a new Interpol agent who sets off a car chase through the streets of Rome when he pulls over a motorist for a traffic violation.
Harlin's most recent movie, the "Exorcist" prequel "Exorcist the Beginning," didn't find a whole lot of love at the box office. Harlin stepped in to the "Exorcist" after the studio fired director Paul Schrader and Harlin's version of the horror pic was lambasted by critics and tanked at the box office.
