Robert De Niro and Al Pacino Team Up for Righteous Kill

May 18, 2007 - Robert De Niro and Al Pacino have signed on to star in the dramatic movie Righteous Kill written by Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man). The announcement was made by Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Randall Furla credits the two actors' desire to work together as the motivating factor in propelling the film forward.

Jon Avnet's set to direct with production expected to begin in August in Connecticut. De Niro and Pacino will play two New York police investigators on the hunt for a serial killer.

Emmett, Avnet, Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, George Furla and Alexandra Milchan are producing the film with Danny Dimbort and Trevor Short executive producing. The independent production has a budget of $60 million.

De Niro will next be seen in the fantasy film Stardust and is currently filming What Just Happened? with John Turturro and Stanley Tucci. Up next for Al Pacino is the ensemble action/comedy, Ocean's Thirteen.
