Mike Epps Will Star in a Film About Comedian Richard Pryor

Mike Epps has signed on to star in a movie about the life of comedian Richard Pryor.

Variety reports Caleb Kane will write the script with Walter Hill set to direct. Pryor and his wife Jennifer Lee will produce the film.

At a tribute to Richard Pryor Mike Epps said, "I met Richard and felt like I was in Oz the whole time. It's hard to describe what he means to me or any standup comic. You could say he's paid the dues for everything we do up there."

Mike Epps gained popularity playing Day-Day in the "Friday" movie franchise. Epps will next be seen in the big screen version of the classic TV series, "The Honeymooners," and "Roll Bounce" with Bow Wow and Nick Cannon.
