June 22, 2006 - Fans of the Harry Potter movie franchise should be happy to hear the next film - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - has been confirmed by IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros Pictures to hit theaters simultaneously in IMAX and regular theaters on July 13, 2007.

Warner Bros Pictures and IMAX have had success in the past, with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire breaking IMAX 2D box office records. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire brought in $20+ million from IMAX theaters alone. According to Warner Bros, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be their 13th film digitally remastered for the IMAX Experience.

In a joint statement by Warner Bros and IMAX, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures Dan Fellman said, "The Harry Potter series has been a huge success in IMAX theatres, and we are delighted to combine this next exciting installment with The IMAX Experience to offer Harry Potter fans another magical adventure for 2007. The IMAX theatre network is a proven source of incremental revenue that we believe will grow exponentially as more IMAX theatres continue to open around the world."
