Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead) and Sienna Miller (Casanova) are in negotiations to star in the movie The Mysteries of Pittsburgh based on the 1988 novel by Michael Chabon.Michael Chabon's debut novel is set in Pittsburgh in the mid-1980s and chronicles the joy, sexual awakening, and heartache of growing up for the story's central character, Art Bechstein.
Rawson Marshall Thurber adapted the screenplay and will direct the film. If the deals go through, Miller and Sarsgaard would play two of the lead character's friends. The role of Art hasn't been cast yet. Production is expected to start later this year.
Sienna Miller will next be seen in Factory Girl and is currently filming Stardust for writer/director Matthew Vaughn.
