Chow Yun-Fat Signs on to "Pirates of the Caribbean 3"

Chow Yun-Fat has signed on to play pirate Captain Sao Feng in the third installment of the movie franchise, "Pirates of the Caribbean."

According to Variety, filming on "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" is currently on hiatus so that director Gore Verbinski can work on "Pirates 2." Both films will star returning "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" cast members, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley.

"Pirates 2" and "Pirates 3" are shooting back to back, with most of the filming completed on "Pirates 2." Disney is hoping to have "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" ready to release as one of their big summer movies of 2006, while "Pirates 3" isn't expected to hit theaters until 2007.
