Loosely based on the 1987 Norwegian film of the same name, this "Pathfinder" will be set in North America and revolves around a Viking boy who is raised by American Indians after being left behind following an intense battle.
Filming is expected to begin next month in Vancouver. Nispel, Mike Medavoy and Arnold Messer are producing. "Alexander" screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis wrote the script and 20th Century Fox will distribute the film.
Urban's action movie resume includes "Lord of the Rings," "Chronicles of Riddick," "The Bourne Supremacy," and the upcoming adventure film, "Doom."
