April 18, 2007 - Variety reports Chicago director Rob Marshall is returning to the musical genre as the director of the big screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning play Nine for the Weinstein Company.
Marshall and the Weinstein Company are currently looking for a screenwriter to adapt the stage hit into a feature film. According to Variety, Marshall's hoping to secure a cast soon and then work the screenplay around his leads.
The story centers around a film director who can't concentrate on his work because he's dealing with numerous women in his life including his lover, wife, and dead mother. Nine will be produced by Marshall and John DeLuca.
