"Nancy Drew" is Returning to the Big Screen

Sep 13, 2005 - Remember Nancy Drew? Warner Bros Pictures is hoping the answer to that question is a resounding yes. The studio is bringing back the teen sleuth with "Nancy Drew: The Mystery in Hollywood Hills" starring Emma Roberts.

Roberts, the daughter of actor Eric and niece of Julia, will take on the role of the smart teen with a knack for solving crimes. Andrew Fleming ("The Craft," "The In-Laws") will direct the pic and is currently at work on a rewrite of the script by Tiffany Paulsen.

"Nancy Drew: The Mystery in Hollywood Hills" puts the resourceful Nancy on the case of a long-dead Hollywood movie star.

Filming is expected to begin in early 2006.
