Mar 25, 2008 - The Universal Pictures romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall is the first movie written by Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) and marks Nicholas Stoller's directorial debut. In the film, Segel's character is a musician whose big ambition is to do a Dracula musical with puppets. And when you need cool-looking puppets for a major feature film, who do you turn to? Of course you seek out the creative folks who work at Jim Henson Productions. And now it turns out Forgetting Sarah Marshall won't be the only project Segel, Stoller, and Jim Henson Productions will be collaborating on. Segel and Stoller will co-write and Stoller will direct the next Muppet movie set up at Walt Disney Pictures.

In our February 2008 interview at the San Francisco Wonder Con, Segel alluded to the Muppets project but wouldn' reveal any details. "I'm actually writing two scripts with Nick Stoller, the director. He and I have been friends for a long time so we another movie at Universal and then another very special project close to my heart that I can't really talk about – but there are puppets involved."

There's no word yet on the plot, which muppets will be featured, or what celebs will appear in the film. The title hasn't even been revealed yet, nor has the anticipated start date.

Stoller and Segel both have busy schedules with another relationship comedy, Five-Year Engagement, up next. Segel is also getting ready to take on I Love You, Man co-starring Paul Rudd. That film's expected to begin production next month.
