Gale Anne Hurd's Valhalla Motion Pictures, Platinum Studio, and Top Cow Productions are gearing up to go into production on Magdalena, a feature film based on Top Cow's comic book character "Magdalena". Jenna Dewan from Step Up and Luke Goss from Hellboy II: The Golden Army have signed on to star.
Dewan will play Patience, a female warrior whose lineage traces back to Mary Magdalene. Patience has to accept her destiny in order to save the world from supernatural evil. Luke Goss has been tapped to play Kristof, a member of a super secret organization whose task it is to be the guardian of the lineage of Magdalena.
Gale Anne Hurd and Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Platinum Studios' Chairman and CEO, are producing. Gary Ventimiglia, Marc Silvestri, and Randy Greenberg will executive produce.
There's no word yet on who will direct or when filming is expected to begin.
