Bryan Singer May Not Have Time for Logan's Run

The Director's Schedule is Filling Up

Variety is reporting Bryan Singer may have to bow out of directing Logan's Run. Production is expected to begin later this year on Logan's Run which would mean Singer would have to go from Superman Returns to Logan's Run and then on the sequel for Superman Returns, leaving the director at the helm of huge projects without any break.

Singer and producer Joel Silver have been working on the remake of Logan's Run for years. In an interview in February 2005, Silver told me, "Our intention is to do that picture immediately following Superman and to come in the summer of 2007. But the script that [Singer's] working on, he’s got Chris McQuarrie on with him now. [They’re] working on that script. That, to me, is a movie that the original just kind of never reached a kind of greatness that the ideal could have had, and Bryan really took it to where it had to go."

Variety reports V for Vendetta director James McTeigue may step in if Singer does decide to not direct Logan's Run.
