Horror writer Dean Koontz called Matheson's I Am Legend "the most clever and riveting vampire novel since Dracula." Matheson's story follows Robert Neville, the sole survivor on planet Earth who is not a blood-sucking vampire. During the daylight hours Neville hunts down the undead. At night he hides himself away and prays to survive just one more day.
Warner Bros is hoping to start production this summer on I Am Legend and release it during the summer of 2007, a time of year when Will Smith rules the box office.
