New Line Acquires "Killing Yourself to Live: 85% A True Story"

March 15, 2005 – New Line Cinema announced they've picked up the film rights to has acquired the feature film rights to "Killing Yourself To Live: 85% A True Story," based on Chuck Klosterman’s upcoming novel.

"Killing Yourself To Live" follows Klosterman's 21-day nationwide investigation of the final resting places of rock and roll stars who met untimely deaths. According to the press release issued by New Line, "the book revolves around the author criss-crossing the country in his beat-up rental car examining why death sometimes catapults ordinary people into legendary status. The illustrious death tour serves as a colorful backdrop to the author's humorous self-reflection on his own early mid-life crisis and an examination of relationships and the cult of celebrity."

Mike Karz and Russell Hollander are producing the film through the New Line-based Karz Entertainment production company.
