Undeclared buddies Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen are set to star in the comedy movie Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse based on an idea by Evan Goldberg (Superbad) and Jason Stone. The feature film is inspired by a trailer Stone shot for the internet. That trailer sparked interest from multiple studios, with Mandate Pictures ultimately closing a deal to bring Jay and Seth to the big screen.

Rogen and Goldberg are working on the script which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, features two friends who get on each other's nerves after being forced into sticking closely together as the world is ending. Production is expected to begin next year on the comedy, depending on Rogen's schedule.

Rogen will next be seen in Pineapple Express with Freaks and Geeks co-star James Franco. Rogen not only stars in Pineapple Express but also wrote and executive produced it. He recently wrapped a starring role in Zack and Miri Make a Porno and is working on a voice for Monsters vs Aliens. Rogen's currently filming Observe and Report while also working on the script for The Green Hornet.

Next up for Baruchel is a starring role in Tropic Thunder alongside Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr.
