Oct 30, 2006 - The cast of the movie The Jane Austen Book Club has increased by seven. Lost's Maggie Grace, Maria Bello, and Hugh Dancy are among those who've joined the film adaptation of the Karen Joy Fowler novel, adapted by Robin Swicord. Also signing on to roles in The Jane Austen Book Club are Kevin Zegers, Emily Blunt, Amy Brenneman, and Jimmy Smits.
Robin Swicord previously adapted Little Women and Memoirs of a Geisha and will make her feature film directorial debut with The Jane Austen Book Club. Sony Pictures Classics will distribute the film with John Calley and Julie Lynn producing.
Fowler's novel follows a group of California women and one man who make up a club dedicated to discussing Jane Austen's novels.
Filming is expected to begin in November 2006.
