May 31, 2005 - Variety is reporting that Jeff Nathanson's latest draft of "Indy 4" has met with positive reactions from Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
The man who plays Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford, hasn't read the script yet and it'll take his approval to get the project off the ground. The idea of doing a fourth "Indiana Jones" film has been in the works for years, but Spielberg, Lucas and Ford had failed to read a script they liked. Nathanson was given a shot at the project after collaborating with Spielberg on "Catch Me If You Can" and "The Terminal."
Though it looks like "Indy 4" is edging closer to getting made, scheduling time to actually shoot the film is another hurdle the filmmakers will have to overcome. Spielberg's expected to begin work on his 1972 Olympics film sometime soon. He also has a film about the Civil War on his plate of projects to tackle in the near future.
