June 13, 2007 - Director Louis Leterrier is loading his The Incredible Hulk cast with award-winning actors. First, two-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton signed on to star as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, then Oscar-nominee Tim Roth (Rob Roy) joined as the film's villain. Now Oscar-winner William Hurt (Kiss of the Spider Woman) has said yes to playing General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross in the comic book-inspired movie.
Filming is expected to begin this summer with Marvel Studios and Universal Pictures aiming for a June 2008 release.
The Incredible Hulk will be produced by Avi Arad, Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Feige. Zak Penn, no stranger to the comic book movie genre having penned (pun intended) Elektra and X-Men: The Last Stand, wrote the screenplay.
William Hurt was last seen on the big screen in the dramatic thriller, Mr Brooks, with Kevin Costner.
