The classic Mattel He-Man toy line looks to be getting the big screen treatment as Warner Bros Pictures and producer Joel Silver are moving ahead on the idea of making a live-action Masters of the Universe movie. According to Variety, the deal still depends on Mattel approving the project.
If Mattel signs off on the outline then it will be up to screenwriting newcomer Justin Marks to script a He-Man story that'll revive interest in the old toy line and reel in a new generation of fans. Variety reports the good versus evil story pitched to Mattel involves a warrior who's the last hope of Eternia, a magical city ravaged by Skeletor.
There have been rumors of a He-Man project for years and recently big-name actors such as Brad Pitt and Gerard Butler have seen their names connected to the project in various reports. However Variety's coverage of the Warner Bros Masters of the Universe film indicates no one has been cast in the lead role.
