Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Tucker Join "In the Valley of Elah"

Dec 4, 2006 - The Hollywood Reporter reports Susan Sarandon and Jonathan Tucker have signed on to Paul Haggis' next project, tentatively titled In the Valley of Elah. Sarandon and Tucker join Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron, both of whom have already committed to starring roles.

Haggis' film is based on an article by Mark Boal that appeared in Playboy. Boal's investigative piece relayed the story of an Army officer who didn't believe the Army's claim his son went AWOL after returning from Iraq. His refusal to believe the official version led to the discovery of a murder.

Jones will play the father with Sarandon set to star as his wife. Tucker will play the son whose disappearance prompts the investigation.
