Sela Ward Joins the Cast of the Movie "The Guardian"

Nov 8, 2005 - The cast of the action drama "The Guardian" is filling out. Sela Ward (TV's "Once and Again") has signed on to the movie, joining Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher who have already begun work on the film.

Costner plays a legendary Coast Guard rescue swimmer and Ward will co-star as his wife. Kutcher plays a rebellious young man who joins the Coast Guard and makes friends with Costner's character. Also cast in "The Guardian" are "Jarhead" co-stars Brian Geraghty and Peter Gail.

Andy Davis will direct "The Guardian" for Touchstone Pictures and Beacon Pictures. "The Guardian" had been scheduled to be shot in New Orleans until the area was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Production on the film was then moved to Shreveport and filming is expected to begin in December 2005.
