Aug 15, 2005 - Because so much was left unanswered with the first "Garfield" movie, 20th Century Fox has given the go-ahead for a sequel.

The man who provided Garfield with his voice in the first film, Bill Murray, is in talks to purr his way through "Garfield 2" for director Tim Hill. Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt have already said yes to "Garfield 2." Lucy Davis and Billy Connolly have joined the cast of the movie, which is tentatively set for release next summer. Connolly will play the bad guy with Davis taking on the role of an animal lover who tries to get Connolly to reveal his evil plans.

Bill Murray's receiving great reviews for his starring turn in Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers" and has wrapped production on "The Lost City" for actor/director Andy Garcia.

Breckin Meyer was last seen in the comedies, "Herbie Fully Loaded" and "Rebound." Jennifer Love Hewitt will be balancing her work on "Garfield 2" with a starring role in the TV series, "Ghost Whisperer."
