Michael Bay's Ready to Remake "Friday the 13th"

Another Classic Horror Movie Gets the Remake Treatment

By Rebecca Murray, About.com

Feb 16, 2006 - Will the horror ever end? Is there no hope Hollywood will ever stop remaking horror movies from the '70s and '80s? If what The Hollywood Reporter says is true, then the answer to both questions is a resounding 'no'.

Michael Bay is apparently hot and heavy to join with New Line Cinema in remaking the 1980 horror movie which spawned an endless stream of sequels. Bay wants to redo "Friday the 13th," which was originally directed by Sean S Cunningham. The original movie introduced legions of horror fans to killer Jason Vorhees and all the pretty slasher fodder he found at Camp Crystal Lake.

Mark Wheaton wrote the script however there's no word yet on whether it drastically alters the original storyline. As of this minute, no director is attached and the roles haven't been cast.
