David Goyer ("Blade: Trinity") will write, produce and direct a movie based on The Flash, a DC Comics hero.

Commenting on the project, Goyer told Variety, "'Flash' is my favorite of the properties," said Goyer about the DC Comics stable. "I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas."

The Flash first appeared back in 1939 and is the alter ego of chemistry student Jason 'Jay' Garrick. The Flash can move incredibly fast, a talent which earned him the name, 'The Flash'.
