Writer Gary Hardwick will adapt his book into a screenplay. According to Variety, "The Executioner's Game" focuses on an operative for a top secret government organization who is given the job of assassinating his former mentor.
Hardwick told Variety this novel is a departure from his usual fare, "My other characters had domestic troubles; there was more drama. Luther's character is a guy trying to figure out who he is. He's been molded into a killer, but he was a person before. He's a big, tall, square-jawed, hero guy."
Neal Moritz's Original production company is producing "The Executioner's Game" for Columbia Pictures.
