Jamie Foxx to Star in "The Executioner's Game"

Jamie Foxx Goes from "Ray" to "Executioner's"

By Rebecca Murray, About.com

Variety is reporting Jamie Foxx has been signed to star in the thriller, "The Executioner's Game." The movie will be based on Gary Hardwick's soon to be published novel of the same name.

Writer Gary Hardwick will adapt his book into a screenplay. According to Variety, "The Executioner's Game" focuses on an operative for a top secret government organization who is given the job of assassinating his former mentor.

Hardwick told Variety this novel is a departure from his usual fare, "My other characters had domestic troubles; there was more drama. Luther's character is a guy trying to figure out who he is. He's been molded into a killer, but he was a person before. He's a big, tall, square-jawed, hero guy."

Neal Moritz's Original production company is producing "The Executioner's Game" for Columbia Pictures.
