Sarandon will play an evil queen who tries to break up a romance between a princess (Amy Adams) and a prince (James Marsden). The story follows a princess who is forced out of her comfortable animated world into modern day America.
The film will be a mix of live action and animation. Adams' character and Sarandon's will go between the animated world and live action scenes set in Manhattan.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sarandon is currently working with make-up artist Rick Baker and animator James Baxter to help create her likeness which will be used in the animated scenes.
Bill Kelly wrote the script with Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld set to produce.
