Summit Entertainment has snagged a summer release date for the third movie of the Twilight series, Eclipse. Summit plans to launch Eclipse in theaters on June 30, 2010.
For those familiar with the Twilight franchise only through the movie, the second film (New Moon) focuses on the growing friendship between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Eclipse returns the spotlight to the relationship between Bella and the handsomest teen vampire on the planet, Edward (Robert Pattinson).
Twilight hit theaters on November 21, 2008 and made $69 million its opening weekend. New Moon is following in that film's footsteps, also heading into theaters in November (the 20th, to be exact).
