I, Robot director Alex Proyas has been picked by Universal Pictures to direct Dracula Year Zero. The new Dracula film will be a fresh take on the origin of the legend of Vlad the Impaler.
According to Variety, Universal's Dracula Year Zero will show Vlad when he was young and vital. Screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless want to remind viewers that Vlad was once a hero in his country.
Proyas' other credits include Garage Days and Dark City. He's rumored to be in talks to direct the Fantastic Four spin-off, Silver Surfer.
