"The Devil Wears Prada" Gets the Big Screen Treatment

David Frankel to Write/Direct "The Devil Wears Prada"

Nov 5, 2004 - David Frankel has been named writer/director for the big screen version of Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel, "The Devil Wears Prada."

"The Devil Wears Prada" is the ultimate story of a boss from Hell. An inexperienced small-town girl lands a job working as the assistant to the high-powered editor of "Runway" magazine. As the demands put upon her escalate, the book's young heroine doesn't know if putting up with the Devil is worth the loss of her own sanity.

David Frankel wrote and directed "Miami Rhapsody," a 1995 comedy which starred Sarah Jessica Parker. Frankel's also directed the HBO series "Entourage" and episodes of "Band of Brothers.
