Emmett/Furla Films announced principal photography has begun on Day of the Dead, a remake of the 1985 George A Romero zombie film. Steve Miner (Halloween H20) is directing the film from a screenplay adapted by Jeffery Reddick (Final Destination).Mena Suvari, Ving Rhames, and Nick Cannon are starring in the Day of the Dead remake, with Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, Randall Emmett, George Furla, and James Dudelson producing.
In the new Day of the Dead, zombies have taken over the USA. Those who've managed to escape being zombie fodder include a small group of scientists, military personnel, and civilians. When they seek shelter in an underground military bunker, they discover there are even greater dangers in store for them inside.
